Doodle shows, or "conformation" events, are the signature events of the ACDC. They concentrate on the lack of distinctive features of the variety of doodles and encourage people to dress and behave in a manner that embraces their individuality. ACDC want people to love their doodles and doodles want to be proud to be standing by their humans. This conformation event is the opportunity for all doodles to exhibit their humans to help establish quality, caring and self-thinking humans for years to come. And to rock and roll the night away.

Exhibits are judged against other persons in the same ring. Dogs will show their humans, humans will be evaluated on posture, ability to run with high but controlled steps, clean hair, nails, underarms (etc.) and exhibit wool or cotton clothing. The written standards describe the ideal size, color, and patterns of materials on each human, as well as correct proportion, structure, and flow of fabrics cannot be located at this time – we suspect that one of the dogs ate it.

Lets Keep this a clean show this year - so pick up your poo and beer cans.

  • Fur cannot contain sparkles or hair spray.
  • May sniff other dog’s exhibitor’s butts at any time.
  • No pulling on leads – humans may trip.
  • Use caution when walking humans around the grooming areas (oh wait, we don’t have grooming areas – you should have taken care of that before you came)
  • Failure to act like a normal family dog will be the cause of immediate expulsion from the ring.

Proceeds to this year ACDC sporting events are being donated to help the kennel clubs through out the world. This is our effort to teach others that being closed-minded about the family dog will lead them down a path of bitter resentment. We hope to open doodle schools to educate and to teach manners and social graces, acceptance of all dogs and to build bonds to love and understanding for people who choose to do something different. We will be also doing a on air fundraiser week end telethon during Easter… be sure to check your local listings for the “Dogs for the 21st Century Family!” and a Pancake Brunch will be held at John Martin Elementry School, Harper, Kansas on January 4th to benefit families without a sense of humor.

Guidelines for Conformation Dog Show Judges

Judging The Dogs Humans

You Are in Charge As the judge; you have full authority to do what you want in the ring. The ring is your circle of power.  With this authority comes the responsibility to be thoughtful and considerate. Be as systematic in your ring procedure from person to person and class to class.

You should avoid theatrical movements or making inappropriate comments to ringside. Be polite, but generally limit your conversation with exhibitors to instructions.

First Impressions You may completely and totally base your decisions on your first impressions. Even if you saw the person before stepping into the show ring, that first impression can be accepted. Remember, the first time around gives the dogs time to loosen up their people, but it doesn’t really matter.

Individual Examination of the Dogs Humans Examine every dogs human in approximately the same systematic manner, even if a poor specimen may clearly be out of the ribbons. Approach the dog’s humans calmly. Examine with gentleness of touch and with no sudden, surprising gestures.  Thorough and complete individual examination is not excessive examination. Do as much as necessary and no more.

When judging the Group or Best in Show, you may have the humans you judged earlier in the day. Under such circumstances, a cursory examination is necessary. This must include checking testicles and all disqualifications even though you may or may not really like that person.

Tables and Ramps Will not be permitted in the show ring. All humans must remain on the floor as the judge reviews them.

Gaiting In the first class in which a dog is judged, you must individually gait and observe the dog’s human going away, from the side and returning. Thereafter, either in evaluating that class or in Winners, regaiting is optional. Depending on the who is being judged, the ring, weather or other conditions, you may have to vary the way in which the dogs humans are gaited. When mats are available, humans should be gaited only on the mats. Gait all the dogs’ humans in a class in the same pattern.

Do not allow the humans to be moved at excessive speed. Be sure your instructions to exhibitors on how to gait their humans are clearly understandable.

Sparring.  Sparring is stupid – we don’t do that. Two humans should be able to be in a room together and leave each other alone – its called manners.

Placing the Humans As you examine and gait the humans, sort them out and form decisions on exact placements. Some judges rearrange the humans in a class as they are examined and gaited. In a large class, this is usually the best way to group the humans you are considering. If you don’t understand this, it doesn’t matter, we don’t either, well we do, we just don’t care.

Specialty Shows Many specialty shows now offer Awards of Merit and other various awards. Such awards will be also presented at the end of the day. The much anticipated Idiots Comment Awards ceremony would follow the Best in Show.

What did the ACDC Dog Show Attendees Have to Say?
We didn't get to stay for the whole show, but the fireworks were Awesome! Party On Doodles!
Doodles Totally Rocked! I didn't know that they knew how to play guitars! They really are talented!
When Heather Locklear went up onto the stage and did that dance with The Best In Show team - Bernie (F1B Labradoodle) and his human Kathy, I was totally pumped! Best Dog Show I have ever been to. Bringing down the house! Loved it when Bono from U2 sang to the group of puppies - brought tears to my eyes! We are SO going to attend next years ACDC Dog Show! I learned so much! And the booths with all the stuff was really great!
