Indiana Canine Assistant & Adolescent Network (ICAAN)

ICAAN is doing the beginning stages of training for service dogs for the disabled. Currently there is a F1 Labradoodle and a F1 Goldendoodle in the program.

What makes this program unique is that the dogs will be trained by prisoners. This makes a win, win, win situation. The puppies will get the care and training they require, the prisoners learn patience, unconditional love and structure and eventually, a disabled person will get a healthy well trained, and well loved companion for life.

Paws and Think

With the help of trained at-risk youth and volunteer puppy-raisers, dogs are raised to be eager, confident, well-mannered and skilled assistance dogs to assist adults and children who have mobility limitations with activities of daily living.
